Primary Care: Who, What, & Why...?

Who needs primary care…? In short, everyone can benefit — and often for free if it’s your yearly check-up.* The CDC recommends visiting a primary care provider throughout the year, but the truth is that many Americans do not have one, especially young adults. Without consistent check-ups and medical advice from a trusted provider, it is more likely that health conditions will develop over time for the average patient.

What is Primary Care…? Primary Care is focused on helping patients achieve two health goals: (1) To manage existing health conditions; and (2) To prevent new issues from arising. In other words, Primary Care is about helping patients get chronic issues under control and working with them to stay healthy in the long run.

*Many health insurance providers include a free annual primary care visit with their plans. Ask your insurance provider today, or give us a call to find out if you qualify for a free exam!

Experience The Best Care, The Best Way, Each Day.

At PrimaryCare Indy, you can expect the best care, the best way, each and every day. As a division of Pike Medical Consultants, PrimaryCare Indy is proud to retain a medical team of highly qualified individuals who are devoted to serving each of our patients with compassion, devotion, and respect.

Our primary care clinic offers the following services to our patients:

  • Blood pressure and cholesterol
  • Diabetes management
  • Radiology and on-site labs
  • Mental health
  • Immunizations and vaccinations
  • Acute and preventive care

In addition to primary care, we also offer urgent care in a shared clinic space with additional medical providers ready to serve your individual urgent care needs when issues arise outside of office hours. Our primary care patients enjoy the added convenience of a walk-in clinic with hours available seven days a week (except certain holidays).

Scheduling routine doctor’s visits, including your annual physical exam, is important to maintain overall health. Over time, your primary care doctor forms a complete picture of your past and current health to better protect you against future health complications. In between exams, your primary care doctor can also help to diagnose and treat minor illnesses and injuries.
